Frequently Asked questions

How long will it take you to build my website?
There are a lot of variables here like the size of your site or how interactive you need or want it to be. My goal is to have your site finished and live in 4-8 weeks. But the biggest slow down, I've found, is often content. You're busy, you have lots to do, so the more you have ready to go from the start of the project, the better.
Need to update your headshots from 5 years ago? Get them scheduled now so when they're finished, you can send them! Need to update your bio for the About Me page? Do it while you're thinking about now! All of the prep work will pay off in the time it takes to get your website off the ground.
How much will this cost?
First, your website is an investment in your business. It's how people find you, learn about you, and decide to continue working with you (or not 😬).
There are a few variables here as well so the best way to know for sure how much you'll be investing is to schedule a Discovery Call with me. I'm not rigid in what you receive in one package vs. another - your investment needs to meet YOUR needs, not my package requirements. I also understand that most business owners simply don't have thousands of dollars laying around waiting to be spent. I break my fees into monthly payments over 4-6 months, with the bulk of the work completed in 4-8 weeks. However, you'll still have me to make tweaks until the end of your payments.

All of my websites start at $1500.

There are also a couple of costs that I ask you to pay for directly that are separate from my design fees. One is your hosting. I use Wix and find it easy to set up hosting through them. I walk you through your options and help with this process. The other is a site called Termageddon. They make it really easy to set up your website privacy policies & disclaimers (super important these days) and they'll walk you through every step of the way.
Will I get revisions?
Of course! I like to be collaborative when I work on your website. I try to get as much information up front about your style preferences, likes, dislikes and needs so that I can design the best site for YOU, not me. We'll go back and forth multiple times in the beginning of the design process to make sure you're getting what you envision. Once we get the design fine tuned, there will still be some time to make changes but the focus will shift to your content.
What do you need me to do?
I need you to gather as much content up front as possible. If that's copy/pasting from your previous site to put in a doc, great! If that means getting new headshots while the weather is nice, do that!
Gather your files, images, links, & passwords into one place so you know where to find them when the time comes.
What if I need to make changes down the road?
Because I use a payment plan (your investment spread out over 4-6 months) we can continue to make changes until that time is up. However, if you would like my help making changes after that time, I do have a monthly and quarterly support plan.

And, if you'd rather just update your site yourself, I will make sure you have all the information you need to do so! But, once we're done you won't want to see me go!
What if I don't have everything readY?
That's okay. We can start with design and while I'm working on that, you can begin gathering images and content.
How will you keep me updated?
I might be an over-communicator. I can't help it. I use a site called Loom to create videos of my screen. So, to get feedback on design changes, image placement, etc, I'll make a video and ask for your feedback. What's great about Loom is that you can comment directly in the video! You don't have to create an account to watch or comment on the videos I make, but if you like using it I highly recommend it!
I also use Google Drive/Docs to keep your content organized, and I use a client portal so that you can see progress there as well.
Do you do other digital creation?
My focus is on website design and helping businesses build websites that work for them. I'm not a social media expert or digital media expert by any means. But, I'm willing to try just about anything. Reach out and let me know what your needs are - depending on my schedule and the scope of the project we might be able to work together!
With that being said, for non-website related projects, I charge an hourly fee.
